Next Rummage Sale: October 2010 Check back soon for dates. The women of the church sponsor a much anticipated fall and spring rummage sale. The last rummage sale was a great success raising over $2000. All proceeds from the sale go directly toward improving our facilities, the purchase of seasonal banners, upgrading church kitchen equipment, contributing to the purchase or the church organ, and other efforts, like helping victims of Hurricane Katrina. Even though many members of the church help out with the sale, a lot of people who are not members look forward to the sale. It’s probably because they are all working together for a great purpose, and while they are helping out, they are bonding with people of all ages. It’s fun to work the sale.All items unsold at the end of the sale are donated to local charities. In the past, one man bought several bags of shoes which he sent to Yugoslavia. Another woman purchased clothing to send to her family living in eastern Europe. Many families depend on the rummage sale for clothing and household items. |
