Victims of natural disasters, the homeless and those who live below the poverty level are in need of the most basic necessities. To those living in poverty, a blanket can not only keep them warm, it can also be something to wrap up their belongings in when they have to move to the next refugee camp, or to use as a pillow, after a long day of labor.

 To commemorate Mother's Day, Christ Lutheran Church raises money to donate to Church World Service, who purchases and distributes blankets to those most in need. The most recent victims were those who survived Hurrican Gustav in Texas.
